Sammy Fun Day 2001

February Pack Hike

Sammy Fun Day
On February 24th the Samoyed Fanciers of Central Florida converged on members Louis and Francis Thompsons house for a day of fun and games. The dogs (and their owners) were kept busy herding sheep, working on agility equipment, weight pulling, and running relays. A big AHROO! to Louis and Francis for letting us and the dogs spend a throughly enjoyable Saturday with them. Look below to see some of the fun we had!

Rick Austin holds back Merlin, while John Jeffries and Gary Jones chat. Do you think Merlins excited to be here? LaWayne and Georgan Wyatt work the dogs in agility.
The sheep's opinion of Sammy Fun Day - BAAAAA

Ready to go sammies.

Max watches on as Merlin tries herding. Merlin decides he would rather be with Max than with sheep anyday.
The "Kids' Team" plot their strategy for the relay race. (Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture?)

The race is on!

Georgann shows us how to work the sheep. Run down, pick up a pile. There certainly is something familiar about this relay.

February Pack Hike
Diana Steele led an intrepid group through the trails of the Ocala National Forest this past February. It looks as though they had a buetiful day for hiking. Here are some pictures from their hike.

This one is of Rick Austin and his children. They have a rescue dog, Merlin, whom they adore. Looks like the dogs are more interested in food than in hiking.

Time for a break.

Doing what sammies do best..... Smiling for the camera. Janice McGlashon with Piper and Beach joined in the group photo.

Fearless leader Diana, with Khyber and honorary sammy Red.
